The Government of Surabaya City supports technology implementation for people development, by providing super fast Internet connection through the availability of free WiFi connection in more than 1,900 public facilities and locations. The government hopes that providing WiFi facility can be the best solution for the growing demand of information and digital technology requirements.

In line with implementation program, Biznet that has been available in Surabaya City since 2008, also offers free Internet services through Biznet Hotspot, which can be enjoyed in several areas in Surabaya City such as Malls, Hospitals, Public Schools and Universities, including Adhi Tama Institute of Technology Surabaya, Hang Tuah University, SMAN 9 Surabaya and SMK 5 Surabaya.

Surabaya City is the capital of East Java Province and is the second largest city in Indonesia after DKI Jakarta. Surabaya City is known as the City of Heroes due to its history of its Arek-arek Suroboyo (Surabaya young generations) struggle in fighting for the independence of the Indonesian people from colonialism.
